What We Do
Make It Count!
The goal of private dog training is to go beyond basic commands like sit or lie down. Private training can help with jumping up on people or furniture, separation anxiety, leash pulling, barking, chewing, digging, socialization with other dogs and people, biting, and much more.
Choose A Training That Best Suits Your Needs
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain from a quick and free consultation. Many owners aren't sure about the type of training that is required to achieve their goal. We can help you make an educated decision, even if it means proceeding with a different service, or different trainer all together. We're just here to help in every way!

New Puppy
Housebreaking is one of the most underrated services in the business. The way you set the mood from the first minute is EVERYTHING.
A Professional service can save you costs and many headaches down the road.

Canine Specialist
Discipline and learning commands are just 'habits' that dogs learn. It all really comes down to a dog's cognitive abilities to understand what is expected of them, whether it is a behavior or a more simpler action. Having a specialist look at your case is sometimes all that is needed, and not costly, recurring training.

Standard Training
What is standard training?
It's hard to say because there are various types and levels that can determine a standard training regimen.
Usually, we just want our dogs to be able to understand commands.
This doesn't always mean "obedience" training, and you can achieve this with just a few classes or private lessons.

Behavior Modification
Some issues are more severe than others- like food aggression, over-protecting, intimidating barking and growling, lunging, running away, fear, anxiety, and social or home aggression.
In these cases, traditional training may not help, and will not address the root cause of the issue. You'll need something more personal and effective like a dedicated private session that tackles the psychological condition causing the issues.
*All classes can be performed either in-home or at the facility in Marietta.

Training Levels
We offer 3 kinds of levels.
Puppy Level, Adult, and Lost Case. Each is an All-In-One special.
Puppy - Lev. 1 and 2 With puppy level training, owners & participants learn the foundation of establishing a good relationship, training techniques, and setting the expectations with their dogs. This also includes all housebreaking.
Adult/Standard Level offers precise training that applies to all challenges and unfavorable behaviors- the traditional command style training, but in an intuitive, live, and powerful session.
Lost Cases - this is the proud and joy of How To Make A Dog. No dog is unsaveable, "too crazy" or broken. Call us when everything else you've tried has failed! These tend to be our most sentimental cases, and we take pride in saving a dog that's labeled a lost case.

Puppy Level II
This is for those that already have had a Puppy Housebreaking session service, and is the next best thing recommended for anyone introducing a new dog to their household.
You will learn 3 basic commands, sit, come, and how to master the "no" command.
We focus on etiquette. Then, you'll learn proper Puppy Playtime, and how to use it to start implementing good habits.
Finally, we will dive right into nutrition, setting the expectations and rules of the household, as well as how to setup your puppy's environment for success.

Dog Psychology and Behavioral Specialist
This is a good service to target a specific issue and 'nip it in the bud' before it becomes a habit.
This service is also for 1 or multiple issues that have been going on for a while, and a fine-tuned in-home session that targets everything.
This tackles any and all issues, from Leash Manners to Behavior Modification.

Advanced
Leash Manners
Here you can learn how to 'master the walk' if that is the only problem you are having.
Some dogs seem to do everything perfectly, but for some reason, walking on a leash is the only problem.
In these cases, there could be underlying issues that need to be rooted out.
Often times, owners think that it's as simple as using the correct leash, when in fact there are psychological issues that must be addressed, in order to have a breakthrough and fix this issue.

In some cases (10% of them) a temperament test may be necessary and can cost between $25 to $50 depending on breed, requirements, and location.
PUPPY CATEGORY
New Puppy & Housebreaking - Puppy Level I
In-Home, 2 to 4 hours, teaches you how to communicate with your dog & basic skills, like how to teach your dog attention, crate training, nutrition & diet, establishing a household governance, pack leadership, and potty training. *For puppies under 10 months old, this service doesn't include 'Walking' training.
Full Housebreaking , PLUS Intro to Walking
USD $ 300
*Standard Puppy Housebreaking (doesn't include Intro to Walking)
USD $ 200
Puppy Level II
For puppies that have already done the 'New Puppy' training service above. One of the major differences between the two levels is with Level 2 there is extensive Leash Manners and Walking focus. Not all dogs are at an age (or size) that they can be walked on a leash.
Therefore this service is more advanced, and helps transition your new dog/puppy into the pack. Puppies in Level 1 often are not fully ready to be traditionally trained, and require skill to settle in over standard training.
With this service (Puppy Level II) we begin the work that needs to be done in order to transition your puppy into a balanced pack member, along with basic obedience training.
If you would like to include all the above AND this service, then the **Plus Premium Puppy Package is the best bang for your buck!

Cancellation Policy
Any cancellations made on the ‘day of’ appointment are subject to this policy and a $30.00 cancellation fee (or $25.00 for 30-minute telephone or remote session assessments, consultations, and/or evaluation appointment) if no advance notice and re-scheduling was made within 48 hours of an appointment. Exception: Unless your appointment is scheduled within 48 hours of the time of your appointment, then a 24 hour minimum advance notice is required if there is a need to re-schedule, or if there is any problem with the scheduled and booked appointment slot- this includes starting late on the client’s behalf (15 minute buffer from time of start of appointment allowed), any no-show, substitutions of attendees that could require repeating all of parts of the service, or cancellations done during an appointment such as non-emergency ending of an appointment. These are not late fees. If for any reason the client is running late (15 minute buffer) there will be no late fees assessed, however, the time the client has paid for and booking slot, remains in effect. The remainder of the time of a booked time slot is all that will be allotted during ANY appointment, unless an arrangement has been made with any staff to adjust the time, rates, or any other agreements that affect an appointment’s timely duration. At that time, if the client wishes to exceed the duration of their appointment, it must be done by booking a minimum 1-hour under the hourly rate for the type of service being performed, even if the time the client wishes to extend the appointment is under 1 hour, no exceptions.
